Organist & Choirmaster

Christian Schoen, a native of Heidelberg, Germany, began studying organ music with Donna Anderson at the Regimental Memorial Chapel, Fort Eustis, Virginia, when he was sixteen. Mr. Schoen later studied organ music with Marylin Mason, University of Michigan; Janet Linker, Capital University; Michael Murray, Concert Organist; Larry Palmer, Southern Methodist University; George Baker, Southern Methodist University; Mary Preston, Lay Family Organ Curator, Meyerson Symphony Center; and Jesse Eschbach, University of North Texas.

Christian has performed solo concerts in Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, Georgia, and Texas; played with Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra at the Meyerson Symphony Center, Dallas, Texas; and accompanied members of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Dallas Opera, and the Atlanta Symphony.

In November, 2007, Christian performed a private recital at Westminster Abbey, London, United Kingdom. He was the organist for the Musica Sacra Choir tour of the United Kingdom in July, 2008, in which he played for services at St. Mary the Virgin, Finedon, All Saints', Stamford, St. Paul's Cathedral, London, Chester Cathedral, Paisley Abbey, and St. John's, Edinburgh.

Mr. Schoen has served several congregations in the Presbyterian, Lutheran, Episcopal, Methodist, and United Church of Christ faiths, and also served as Choral Director for the Dallas Frohsinn Singing Society, which is the oldest recognized musical ensemble in the Dallas area.
