Reaching Out

We take pride in making Rock Spring Presbyterian Church a place of warmth, security, friendship and love -- in short, RSPC is a home. As such, we are very aware of the thousands of people in Atlanta who are without a home. Our Outreach Ministry focuses on programs and activities that help others find and make a home in Atlanta.

You may be asking yourself, "That's a noble objecitve, but what can I -- one person -- do to make a difference in improving the community in which we live?" The primary objective of the Outreach Ministry is to provide church members and interested individuals with many opportunities to be of service to our neighbors in metro Atlanta. Consider these numbers that speak to our current programs:

1

one person, church member or non-member, who has an interest in volunteering their time and talents to be of service to the homeless living in Atlanta.

5

five women, ages 8 to 29 -- a family -- who came to Atlanta from Pittsburgh, PA in search of a new life. They were homeless, living in a shelter, until RSPC embraced them. We found them a home, gave them a new start, and made them feel welcome in our fellowship.

7

seven winter Fridays a year when RSPC sponsors the Druid Hills Men's Shelter, providing 30 men with food, shelter, and fellowship during a difficult time of the year.

7,000

RSPC serves seven thousand meals each year to homeless men and women in the city through our Soup and Blanket Ministry and our work with the Pine Street Homeless Shelter.

Yes, at RSPC one person can make a difference. Call us at 404-875-7483 or e-mail Dan Byrne, Outreach Ministry Chair, at dbyrne@rspc.org to learn more about volunteering and other ways of helping out.

Rock Spring also has a highly regarded pre-school program on site that we call Kid's Day Out (KDO). Click here to learn more.
